Job Responsibilities
Last Date: June 10, 2024 Background: The Tata Trusts conceptualized the Reviving Green Revolution Initiative in 2002, to support diversification in agriculture in Punjab and Tamil Nadu with an aim to attain sustainability of agricultural production and to enhance income of rural communities. Reviving Green Revolution Cell (NGO) was established in Ludhiana in 2008. RGR Cell works in close coordination with the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, Department of Agriculture (DoA) and the state Governments of Punjab (GoP) and Tamil Nadu (TN), which have been instrumental in up scaling the dissemination of technologies and package of practices developed by PAU, Ludhiana and TNAU, Coimbatore. RGR Cell is looking for Kheti Doots to work in “Promoting Regenerative and No-Burn Agriculture (PRANA)” project for one year period starting from June 2024 to May 2025.

Job description:

Conduct farmers meetings, field days, demonstration, soil sample collection etc.
Dissemination of information of new varieties / hybrids, improved agriculture inputs and technologies suitable for the local area
Assist Field Assistant (FA) and the team members for preparing physical work plan.
Identify training needs of the farmers and farmer groups
Data collection under guidance of RGR staff and maintain various registers or documents
Report farmers problems and address through appropriate solution advisory in association with RGR staff
Personalized farmer support (field visits, etc.)
Facilitation of on-ground program evaluation

Job Holder Specification
Experience:

Candidates with working experience in Agri / community development program and in the vicinity of project area will be given preference.
Experience of data collection and handling

Qualifications:

Minimum qualification – 10th standard pass.

Emoluments:

Rs. 12,000-13,000/- per month (CTC) + Rs. 4,000 Travel allowance.

Job description

Regular field visits to project villages and plan, implement and monitor project activities as per work plan
Conduct continuous situation analysis and changes in farm practices, technologies, information accessed by farmers in project villages and identify gaps and suggesting measures for betterment of production and profitability in agriculture.
Continuous supervising, measurement, record keeping and monitoring of agriculture extension related activities such as crop and technology demonstrations etc.
Dissemination of information of new varieties / hybrids, improved agriculture inputs and technologies suitable for the local area.
Assist District Coordinator and the team members for preparing physical work plan.
Identify training needs of the farmers and farmer groups for sustainable agriculture development, prepare training module and training literature and conduct training, exposure and workshops for farmers.
Providing technical information, maintain MIS & various registers or documents.
Preparing case studies and documenting best practices
Liaison with the Agriculture Universities / Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (Punjab), KVKs and other aligned departments essential for carrying out project activities.

Job Holder Specification
Qualifications:

Graduate degree in Agriculture
Candidates with higher education qualifications will be given preference.

Experience:

Candidate with working experience in Agri based program will be given preference
Successful track record of achieving targets
Experience of data collection and handling

Knowledge:

Expertise in agriculture
Managing field team and on ground experience of Agri based projects

Skills/Personal traits:

Results oriented and target driven
Solution focused, problem solving
Computer and IT proficient
Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Ability to prioritize, juggle a varied workload, work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Good verbal and written communications skills in English, Punjabi and Hindi

Circumstances:

Undertake extensive travel to the field ·
Able to work in extended hours and weekend as required

Emoluments:
Rs. 32,000-35,000/- per month (CTC) + Travel expenses on actual basis.
