Dr. G. S. Chahal, Executive Director
Dr. Chahal is the Executive Director, RGR Cell, and provides leadership to the teams in Punjab and Tamil Nadu as well as to the Trusts' RGR Initiative. He has more than 35 years of experience with Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), retiring as Dean, College of Agriculture, PAU, Ludhiana. Dr. Chahal is appointed as Secretary of the RGR Cell Governing Body.
Dr. Ajit Singh Dhatt, Sr. Advisor (Agriculture)
Dr. Dhatt is the Sr. Advisor (Agriculture) to the Trusts. He has vast experience in field of Horticulture and fruit processing and retired as Director of Post Harvest Technology Centre (PHTC), PAU, Ludhiana. Dr. Dhatt is responsible for the review of agriculture projects with various initiatives of the Trust, including RGR. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Dhatt is the Treasurer of the RGR Cell Governing Body.
Dr. Amrik Singh Sohi, Advisor (Agriculture), SRTT
Dr. Sohi, retired as Professor of Entomology from PAU, Ludhiana and joined the Trusts in 2006 as Consultant to provide inputs to Cotton IPM project. He is currently, Advisor (Agriculture) to the Trusts and is the key person for providing technical inputs for IPM-Cotton projects in Punjab, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. In Punjab, Dr. Sohi works with a team of Field Officers and Officers of Department of Agriculture to implement IPM-Cotton projects.
Mr. Baljinder Singh Saini, Assistant Development Manager (RGR)
Manages the RGR initiative in Punjab and works on developing and supporting the Trusts’ RLC portfolio. Baljinder liaisons with current and potential grantees; monitors grants, provides programmatic support and independently handles select initiative/grants. Prior to joining the Trusts in 2008; he has been associated with PAU, Ludhiana & KVK, Ambala and holds over 13 years of experience.
Khorshed Talati, Sr. Development Officer
Khorshed is an alumna of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and has been working with the Trusts since 2008. She has completed an Executive Education course on Performance Management in the Non-Profit Sector from Harvard Business School and a six-week course on Agriculture from Cornell University, USA. She anchors the Tamil Nadu Initiative and is responsible for monitoring, implementation, partnership building and overall grant management.
Mr. Soman Raj Sekar
Soman has recently graduated from the Loyola College, Chennai with a specialization in Social Work. He is responsible for managing all ongoing projects in Tamil Nadu which are being operated under the RGR Initiative. Soman takes active interest in field implementation and whenever, possible visits field areas in Tamil Nadu to work with farmers and convey agricultural best practices.
Mr. Amandeep Singh Sharma, Cluster Development Officer (Marketing)
He has been working with agriculture field for about 14 years, providing technical knowledge to the farmers from sowing to post harvesting. Mainly his motive is to enhance the process of diversification in agriculture. He has worked with many companies like Syngenta India Ltd. and Sutlej Agriculture Ltd. In RGR Cell, Amandeep is engaged in increasing farmers' income through a lucrative cropping pattern; marketing of produce; and providing support to Farmer Producer Companies.
Dr. G. S. Deol, Consultant
Dr. Deol retired as the Head of Department (Entomology), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. He currently provides inputs for the IPM-Basmati projects and manages the field team as well.
Dr. I. M. Chibba,Consultant
Dr. Chhibba is an expert in Soil Science and retired as Professor of Soil Sciences from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Dr. Chhibba is the key technical resource person for inputs of proper use of plant nutrients, water resources and soil health.
Mr. K. Natarajan,Consultant (IPM-Cotton)
Consultant (IPM-Cotton) Mr. Natarajan has formerly worked with Central Institute of Cotton Research and has been working with the RGR Cell, Regional Center in Tamil Nadu from 2013. He provides training to farmers and field staff and is responsible for ensuring proper technical information and capacity building.
Ms. Navriti Gill,Consultant (Marketing)
Provides technical guidance to the Marketing component of the RGR Initiative. Under her leadership much progress has been made in establishing producer groups as Producer Companies and developing linkages with companies such as Cremica for direct purchase of vegetables.
Mr. Tam Lal Pokharel
Mr. Tam Lal Pokharel (Suraj), Master in Computer Application, from Punjab Technical University, is responsible for grant management activities of all ongoing projects in Punjab which are being operated under the RGR Initiative. Mr. Suraj is also anchoring earthquake rehabilitation activities supported by Tata Trusts in Nepal.
